With Electric Umbrella, I was part of a team that started a project called ‘Instruments For Change’ which saw us get national news coverage on the BBC, ITV and Sky. We accepted 1000 instruments by Christmas, then with their learning disabled members we cleaned and resold the instruments to new loving homes, or if the instruments were too damaged turned them into new things like trumpet lamps.

Starting this project saw me take on all of the selling and inventory admin, developing a system using spreadsheets to keep track of all our donations through to the second they were sold on our online shop, on our eBay page or in our retail space in the Hemel Marlowes Shopping Centre while also being able to claim gift aid on every item sold. At this point I was also photographing every single instrument, editing them in Lightroom and removing the backgrounds in photoshop to create this professional look.
